Once these unwanted particles have clumped together, they will either sink or float, depending on their density, and can be removed with a pool vacuum or pond filter. For typical swimming pools and hot tubs, 1 ounce of Cesco FC-100 will clear 5000 gallons of water. For ponds, the dosage will be higher because there are more suspended particles. We recommend between 5 and 20 ounces per 5000 gallons of water. To determine the proper dosage for a pond, pull a 5-gallon sample of water, add one mL of Cesco FC-100 at a time, stir and observe for a few minutes. Keep repeating until pin flocs (larger particles) start to form. Once you see the pin flocs forming, you know you have the correct dosage for 5 gallons. Then youll need to calculate the total amount required for your pond.
